| ECSTA V70A, Ranked First by Auto Bild _Test & Tuning |
2005-03-01 |
Kumho Tires' ultra high-performance tire, the 'ECSTA V70A', was ranked first in a tire test conducted by an
exclusive German automobile magazine, Auto Bild, leaving behind other world-class tire makers such as Michelin,
Pirelli, Toyo, and Yokohama.
Auto Bild selected five tire brands quite widely accepted in the European market to conduct performance tests
focused on the dry handling and braking power of W rated (270 km per hour) 225/40R18 tires.
Kumho Tires' ECSTA V70A was ranked second in the handling test following Michelin's Pilot Sport Cup
and ranked first in the braking category where it came to a stop after 34.3 meters from a speed of 100 km per hour,
which is around 6 meters shorter than a normal road tire. The overall ranking was as follows: ECSTA V70A,
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, Toyo Proxes R888, Yokohama Advan A048, Pirelli P Zero Corsa. The results of this ranking
were published in the February 2005 issue of the magazine.
This test was conducted to provide accurate tire information to consumers who enjoy sports driving.
Auto Bild ranked Kumho Tires' ECSTA V70A first on account of its uncompromising sports performance.
ECSTA V70A, developed by KUMHO America Technical Center (KATC), KUMHO European Technical Center (KETC)
and KUMHO Research & Development Center (Gwangju), is a tire for sports cars that can run on the public road.
It is designed specially for the European and North American markets and is aimed mainly at sports driving
enthusiasts who take part in circuit racing or track day events.
